Inside the Isis Masterminds

Today, I'd like to bring to attention an issue that has been a huge problem in the past couple of months.  Sure, there has been violence against police officers and issues within the recent election, but I'd like to bring up a topic that brings chills to my spine - Isis.  A couple days ago, I was watching a story on the news that really interested me.  It was of a lady interviewing a captured young man who had been in the terrorist group and had the courage to reveal how Isis plans it's attacks.  Being among the masterminds of the terrorist group, he explained how Isis lures people to attack on their own soil. They search for people who have a criminal record because it is easier to persuade them to do horrible acts.  When asked if Europeans or Americans were harder to persuade and carry out acts, he said that Isis sees America 'easy' compared to Europe.  Why? The man explained how it is easier for an American to get gun supplies than a European due to our gun policies.  It is harder to get gun supplies to European's to carry out their acts, whereas an American can go to any gun store and buy a gun.  Also, which scared me the most was that Isis claims it is really easy to recruit people because of social media.  By definition, a terrorist group inflicts fear into people through public attention.  Isis is doing just this along with using the internet to their advantage.

  1. These sorts of news always scares me too Brianna. Especially knowing the fact that even in America, people can become victims of such horrendous crimes. I understand the point you make about gun control laws, but know that in the second amendment of the U.S. Constitution, people have the right to bear arms. Therefore, it's not in the governments power to make guns illegal, however, they do put regulations on them, such the requiring of a gun permit.
Now as for social media, I do believe that something should be done about it. I wasn't too long ago when I heard a news story about an online secretive "hacktivist" group known an Anonymous who had taken down hundreds of social accounts deemed to be associated with Isis.
