Benefits of technology
Although some people think that people are too dependent on technology, I think that some technology is really useful. For example, I recently went to the Time Warner Cable office and I was impressed with some of their new technology. It was a home security system that is set up to do several different things. You can control the thermostat, turn the lights on and off, and view each room using cameras that are set up. You can do all these things through one app on your phone. It was amazing to see how technology can keep you safe with their home security system, and also help you save energy by being able to control the lights and the thermostat. This technology is really useful and it amazes me to see how advanced technology is now. What do you guys think of this? Are there any other benefits that technology can offer that you know of?

I am a big believer in technology. Technology in this day and age is able to accomplish so many tasks in people's daily routines. For example, it has been very hot lately. People are ready to go home and relax in their nice air conditioned homes after a long day at work or at school; however, sometimes when people finally do get home, their houses are just as hot as outside or even worse because the house has had the heat trapped in all day. Being able to control the thermostat from outside your home allows people to start up their air conditioning as they head home so they open the door to a very nice and cooled home. It may seem like such a small use for technology, and there are definitely more important uses for technology, but even something so small as air condition makes a difference to a lot of people

ReplyDeleteI think technology is great. There are various uses for technology and that is what makes it great! There is technology built for almost everyone. So what would we do without technology? Technology is available to everyone and lets us do things we normally can't do. Such as waking us up in the morning for work or school that an alarm does for us. Without an alarm how many of us would oversleep and arrive late to school and work everyday. I know for a fact if I didn't set an alarm everyday for school I would not wake up early enough to make it to school on time and become a tardy sweep regular.

One of my favorites is the camera, the camera is a beautiful piece of technology that gives us the ability to capture and share moments that will turn into memories. It amazes me how technology has advanced to the point where something so small can capture so many of our precious memories.

ReplyDeleteI love technology. Technology is extremely beneficial. I'm not one of those people who are against technology and those who insist that technology is killing us. In my opinion, it's helping us out with countless things that we use on an everyday basis. I thought of one example: Parent Portal. We would not be able to check our grades every single day (or hour) after we take that test, impatiently waiting for our teacher to update our grades. I'm guilty of this. What would we be without technology? It's such a necessity now.
ReplyDeleteI agree on how amazing technology can be, but it has its pros and cons. I'm always skeptical specifically about linking important things to your phone. Yes, I agree how helpful it is to be able to control things like your lights and the thermostat of your home just with your phone. You can also link your phone to your bank account to make deposits easier. It can be make your life easier, but what if you lose your phone? If someone gets a hold of your phone they can now control your home. It's possible that they can watch you from the cameras and stalk you just with the phone. I also think it's possible for them to gain access to your bank account if they got a hold of your phone that's linked to an account. I believe that technology is helpful most of the time, but sometimes the benefits can backfire.
