I’ve always been a fan of non-fiction ever since I was a kid
whether I read books about George Washington or economics in the modern era. It
was hard to like non-fiction because many of my fellow pupils were often interested
in fiction and curriculum's were mostly fiction based. Anyways, after reading
the science fiction novel Brave New
World, I would have to say that the novel is one of the best that I have
ever read. I thought it was going to be the most boring; however, I was
intrigued after I completed the first chapter. I love how Aldous Huxley brings
the reader into a society where industry and technology are at the forefront. This
novel has allowed be to step back and take another look at the library of
fiction and to reexamine my literary preferences.
Brave New World surprised
me due to its human engineering, hypnopedia, and classical conditioning. I have
never read a book similar to this, so I was very interested in the novel. It
was exciting to read about a world that has customs very different from ours.
I agree. I think Brave New World was a very interesting book since it illustrates a society much more advanced than today. Not just that, it illustrates how a society would end up if it lets itself be distracted by the media and doesn't take note of an oppressive government. I was slightly frustrated at the idea of the government making people happy the way it wants, not how it's people want. In all, I love how the book has characters that represent a different idea of the society. Also, I wish the ending was different as it seemed too dramatic to me.
ReplyDeleteI wish that John would have been moved to another island like he was about to instead of falling victim to the society he wondered about.
