Television Is Not All Entertainment

After finishing Amusing Ourselves to Death, I began to realize how much technology effects our lives.  Although I did not enjoy this book one bit, I was still able to be more aware of how television was having a negative impact on the way we think.  It effects the way we currently learn things and how learning something new has to be entertaining as we go.  Postman states that children nowadays are so dependent on entertainment that they will only learn something just for the pleasure, not the relevance of the content they are watching.  Things being shown on television now is believed to have no relevance at all, but in my opinion I believe that these shows come with a life lesson.  Even though television is entertaining it does come with an important message attached to it.
