Déjà vu Dreams
So, looking back at my previous post in July I think I'm more obsessed with the drug Soma rather than just interested. But I don't think I would take it after seeing its side effects from Linda in Brave New World. Come to think of it the side effect of hallucinations got me thinking about one of my recent what I think are hallucinations. PLEASE NOTE!!! This is one of my weird insomniac like thoughts that take over my brain when I'm alone if you wish to remain as sane as you are or just don't want to be weirded out, please read something else. Okay, so everyone has heard the question, " Ever get that feeling of déjà vu?" For me though this phrase has a special meaning. Now, sad to say but usually when I sleep I don't dream .On the rare occurrences when I do they sometimes show a moment in time in my every day life that was in the past or hasn't happened yet. When I wake up I have full memory of those types of dreams but as I go about my day it slowly fades away. Fast forward to about a week or two later and then I do some kind of action or there's a certain line I say in some scenario and then I get the strong feeling of déjà vu. I feel like I'm going insane when something like that happens. Does anyone else have a similar experience or knows if this is some kind of mental issue? If you do then please, help me. I think I'm going mad just thinking about it.

I get those types of dreams too. They are called premonition dreams. People usually get them the night before the scenerio occurs, but I guess it is possible to get them early or severely early in your case. Dreams are mysterious and despite all the research about them, there is still much that we don't know. However, we do know that dreams are more likely to occur in REM sleep. REM sleep is a period of higher brain activity while sleeping which might explain the vividness and uniqueness most dreams tend to have.
ReplyDeleteWe know even less about Deja Vu but the most common theory is that it is caused by a brain glitch involving neural signals. Whether it was from a premonition dream or just regular Deja Vu, what happened to you is fairly common. Many people get premonition dreams from time to time and many more get Deja Vu. The last time I got both was in July when I dreamt about someone I unexpectedly met later that day.
