Favorite Book
My favorite book between the three books we read this summer was Amusing Ourselves To Death Neil Postman. It wasn't a novel like Brave New World but it wasn't lengthy like Here Comes Everybody so it made it more enjoyable for me. At first, it was hard getting through each page but after I finished the first two chapters I got in to it. Almost every point Postman made is still relevant today with my personal favorite being chapter seven, the "Now...this" chapter. It describes exactly what goes on in the news televised today in which we are given so many stories in so little time we don't have time to fully comprehend one story. Amusing Ourselves To Death was real and got straight to the point, clearly explaining what the book and its chapters were about. For me, it beat Brave New World because I had been wanting to read a book outside the future dystopian sci-fi genre. It was cool at having a slice of reality handed to me from the past. Overall, I enjoyed all three books but Postman managed to capture my best attention.

My favorite book was Amusing Ourselves To Death as well. I understood it more than the others and I connected to it. I liked how it talked about a problem that we have right now and that's including entertainment into everything.
ReplyDeleteI don't feel the same way, because is didn't like how Amusing Our Self to death kept switching topics. Personally my favorite book was Brave New World. I found that book most interesting because it was cool to read about a dystopia society thats main goal was to be happy. Overall it was my favorite because it kept me wanting to read more.
ReplyDeleteFor me, Amusing Ourselves to Death was a bit confusing, but at the same time it was readable. My favorite book was Brave New World because I liked the story line and also because it was such a page turner.
