Procrastinating to the Extreme

As I was wondering what I should post, the thought of procrastinating crossed my mind. Why is procrastinating a habit for many people today? It might be due to the fact that most people think 'I still have time,' when they are supposed to do work. That time ends up passing by quickly, and soon there's a bunch of work that's due the next day. I know when I started this summer off, I kind of brushed off summer homework until July. Then July passed quickly, and I was stuck with homework for two AP classes due in two weeks! Time management is always my biggest problem, but hopefully I'll grow out of it this year. Many people in my grade are procrastinators as well, and I wonder if procrastinating is more for students, rather than for people who have jobs. What are your thoughts on procrastinating?

  1. I believe that procrastinating is a growing problem due to the easy access to electronics. Think about it, literally almost every person from Mayfair has some convenient access to a computer or their own cellphone. This causes temptation which distracts people from work. We should really focus this year on our work more than our phones and see what rewards come out of it.

  2. What you are saying makes sense, however, I feel that people procrastinate when they have large workloads because the tasks are daunting. They either fear going through the trouble of doing the work because it seems difficult or are too lazy to start the work. I believe that the internet is just one thing people USE to procrastinate, rather than the number one cause. By that, I simply mean that people spend time on the internet when procrastinating instead of procrastinating because of the internet.

  3. Technology does distract people from work and if you don't fix your ways then it will continue into the future. Right now I regret not working on this before and I'm struggling to complete my AP homework. I admit that I did get distracted by my phone many times and now I'm wishing that I didn't.
