Do we really want the truth?

In Amusing Ourselves to Death, Postman states how we are told what we want to hear. Then the society of Brave New World, revolves around nothing but happiness. I could not help compare it to a movie that I have always enjoyed. If you have seen the movie Horton Hears A Who, you could see how it shares some similarities. In the small world where the Whos live, they do not believe in bad news. They only know of good news, and whenever bad news about to be mentioned it is repressed. Even when they begin to notice bad things happening, they still choose not believe that it is bad. 

I find ironic how want the media to tell us everything and not keep any secrets from us. After all, we have the right to know. Yet, we still prefer good news. We want to know, but we also don't because then it will be true.
