Is technology destroying nature? When is the last time you have went outside and just enjoyed nature. Does not even have to be a place cut off from the world but can be in your front yard. The beauty and awe of the trees blowing. Normally I am not a sap for such things but sometimes nature seems to have an unspoken beauty. The way the wind blows through the trees and that same wind is blowing on you is incredible. I am not trying to be a hippie here but think about it.The wonders of how natures works is quite mysterious. Yes science has an answer to how everything ticks and tocks but they do not have a why. The true beauty of nature can never be explained by man. It can only be felt by man.
Technology can "capture" nature through images and videos. Technology can not truly capture the sense of wonder how the world is constantly moving and you are just one person watching a breeze hitting a tree. But everything that goes along with watching that tree. Pictures and videos just focused on the tree not on the whole of nature. It is like Bruce Lee once said, “Its like a finger pointing away to the moon. Don't concentrate on the finger or you will miss all that heavenly glory.” If a person focuses on taking a picture of the tree , they won't be able to experience the awesomeness of nature. Technology has taken the natural part of nature.
People are so involved in technology that there is not much time to enjoy nature either. Technology is destroying the world around us to where the virtual world is the only one left. I only stepped outside because I thought I had heard someone outside while I was on my phone. As I stepped out to my front porch, I noticed the sky in its vastness and then the tree swaying in the wind. Is technology destroying nature or is it just transforming it into something else?
I don't think technology is destroying nature, but I do think it is destroying the value of nature. People nowadays don't often realize the beauty of trees, sunsets, and skies. They are usually stuck on their phones or watching Netflix. Your post just made me go outside. Nice job :)
ReplyDeleteIt could destroy nature but people will still admire nature and how beautiful it is. I love when I'm camping in the mountains and I can see all the stars and constellations. The thing is that a picture can never show exactly how beautiful something is. Our eyes and minds will always remember something, but a picture can remind us of that moment or day.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't say technology destroys nature, rather, it creates a distraction from nature. People can still go outside and enjoy nature, but fewer and fewer people seem to be doing so because they are too busy spending time on the internet and social media.
