Free Heathcare
Have you ever thought about how much healthier the world would be if Heathcare was free? When my sister got sick this summer and she had the coverage from my dads job to go to the doctor it made me realize how fortunate we are to have healthcare. There are a lot of people in the world who are very sick and or hurt and they don't have enough money to pay for the resources to get better. While thinking this I was wondering would free healthcare be a good idea or with it be a fail. Doctors offices would be way more crowded than they are already but there will probably be less diseases being spread around. Not only will it help the people who are sick but it will also help the people who aren't. No one would really have to worry about catching deadly viruses. Also with everyone going to the doctor it would probably help doctors find cures for many sicknesses due to the fact that they will see it in many different forms.

Free healthcare sounds great, but nothing's free. Taxes would increase for U.S. citizens. If the government is paying for people's care, then the price of the care is going to increase because their is a guaranteed payment by the government. This would cause prices to increase exponentially, just like college. Secondly, the government has no need to be involved in your health. This opens the door for the government to take more control over your life.
ReplyDeleteI think free healthcare is a better system than what is in place in the U.S. today. The idea behind free healthcare is that there would be a tax increase, but net savings for the individual since healthcare would be completely under public control and citizen's money would not be spent on things such as health insurance, making a more efficient system. Universal healthcare works in Canada and several other developed countries who think that all citizens should have access to healthcare, regardless of financial capabilities. However, it is important to make sure such a system be implemented properly to avoid corruption, slowing innovation, and extreme bureaucracy that keeps people from the treatments they need.
ReplyDeleteI think free healthcare sounds like a pretty good idea because it would help less fortunate families receive the care they need. However, when I think of something being free, I think of it as of lesser quality. If healthcare is free, the demand for more doctors will rise with the increasing number of patients, but schooling to become a doctor takes years to complete and to meet the doctor to patient ratio, I feel like their schooling will have to be cut short for some. Although there are some risks, I agree that implementing free healthcare to the low income families who can't afford to go to the doctors is a good idea.
