Social Media Bullying

On Room for Debate I recently read an article on how many use the internet as a platform for bullying, and often there is nothing that law enforcement does to put an end to it. I understand that police are very busy handling threats that are being made in person or crimes being committed, but bullying is also a crime. I think that when someone is being bullied online it should be taken very seriously, because often on social media many people decide to make serious threats on others life. It is also very scary when being bullied online, because often strangers decided it would be fun to join in.
What do you guys think?

  1. I feel that online bullying needs to be stopped. People are taking it to a whole new level of brutality. People are becoming so victimized by the internet that they are willing to kill themselves which is the big problem. How can someone behind a computer screen affect someone so bad? People need to understand that words do hurt no matter if they are said online or face to face. Police don't really take action because there are so many cases of cyber bullying in this world. People who are being bullied probably feel like nobody can stop their bully. Even police who used to be viewed as heroes do not do much to stop the cyber bullying.

  2. I heavily agree with this situation. Cyber- bullying is the most intense and horrifying the of bullying. Social media has captivated the minds of us young people, turning us into people we don't even recognize anymore. When a person is bullied it messes with their confidence, stress level, happiness and so many other things. Although, I can say with confidence that Mayfair isn't a school to take bullying and they will address the situation in any manner possible in order to resolve it. Recently, there's was a situation at many schools with an app called oogle. This app allowed the users to post things about other people and comment as well. Soon After, schools found a way to find out what students were using the app to bully others. As a result, students were suspended, expelled, and one schools prom was even cancelled.
