From my perspective, Brave New World made me realize how awesome of a novel it was through its consistency of entertaining literature. John or known as "Mr. Savage" revealed that we do need art, science, religion etc. in life, so that we can experience those aspects of life itself. Additionally the author writes about Bernard not wanting to take the drug called soma, even though there were people who felt that he needed it. He just wanted to be himself, and not conform to everyone else's standards of living. If people just lived with ignorance serving as bliss or taking drugs when things don't meet their expectations, then those factors will just degrade people. One of the controllers named Mustapha Mond, however, disagrees and believes that all of these factors create stability within a society. Furthermore, Mond creates this stable society through bottles in a factory undergoing extreme conditioning for when they are born and so on. Therefore conditioning methods such as hypnopaedia, only programs their minds to cause non individual thinkers unlike John, Bernard and the other character Helmholtz. To conclude I would like to say that what I got out of this book, was that individuality and hardships are main components of life's essentials. Thereby encouraging contrasting factors that occur in Brave New World, only devalues what a person can really do.
