Thinking More Into Depth

After reading the beginning of Where Good Ideas Come From by Steven Johnson, it made me think more into depth of where and how life started.  The first thing I would picture when thinking of how life started is it starting as bacteria and how it would slowly evolve into what we are now.  I never really thought about how it was actually created, but as I was reading the first couple of chapters, Johnson got me to believe that the world was created by the combining of atoms that eventually kept combining to form parts of life.  Not only that, I now have a habit of questioning where certain things come from and how they were thought of being made.  Has this book made you think more into depth of how things are created?  Has it made you wonder where people even begin to think of creating these things?

  1. I get what you're saying and I agree. I've started to wonder and observe things more carefully and look through evidence of how that "thing" could be true or how it came to be. Just like with zaboomafoo. I all of a sudden got curious as to how the creators were inspired to make a show all about a talking lemur giving us knowledge!

  3. I understand what you're saying and agree with it completely. Personally for me, most of my ideas come from spending time in the shower or lying alone in bed at night with only my deepest, darkest thoughts to keep me company. Like what Justin said, how do some people come up with such crazy ideas like a talking lemur? It's ridiculous the things we can come up with!

  5. I agree with what you're saying, just thinking of things like how our Earth is the only inhabitable planet in our galaxy, and how we are at the perfect distance from the sun to function amazes me.

Justin, I think you meant to spell Zoboomafoo. However, I completely agree with you and Ken. The T.V. show Zoboomafoo albeit a kid's show, exposes us to many animals and how diverse nature is. And best of all, you have a talking lemur to teach you all about them and their origins! R.I.P. Zoboomafoo, your legacy continues to live on.

  7. I'm pretty sure we can all agree that it is weird that we some how come up with these crazy ideas. Take for example, the show called Zaboomafoo. This show consists of a talking lemur and what it does is shows the viewer different types of animals and what they do. Things are created because people need things to make their lives seemingly more easier. Some people have already stated that the laziest are the best people because they are the reason to why we have these much more efficient machinery like the washing machine. It is safe to say that these ideas come from the need to innovate new things to keep us satisfied and thus we keep getting these new insane ideas.
