Technology in California

This summer I have been traveling around the mid west and I have came to the conclusion that normal everyday people in California use technology way more to communicate than any other place
I have been all summer. When walking around in the streets of California you can not go a minute without seeing someone talking on the phone or texting. My entire time I was out here the only people I seen on their phones were the people who were traveling with me. While observing that on my trip it made me wonder why do people from California talk through calls or text so much. Why can't they just have conversations fave to face like they do out here?  Why do they feel the need to have technology all of the time?

  1. I notice that too. Sometimes when I'm out with my friends we're all just on our phones either on social media or texting other people. I think technology has just become a part of our culture. It rare to see people out without their phones, just enojying the day. I guess it also depends where you are. If you're at a park some people might actually be playing soccer or basketball instead of on their phones. However some might be at the park to play Pokemon Go. Sometimes, my friends and I actually put down our phones and talk. Or we have some sort of an interaction that has to do with showing each other something on our phone. I guess you just have to find people that make you forget you have a phone since you enjoy their company so much.

  2. Often times when I hang out with my friends we are on our phones too but we still have conversations. The phone is just an easier way to contact someone without having to physically reach them. Maybe the person they are spending so much time on their phone communicating with is some where out of town or just cant go out.
