Themes In "Amusing Ourselves To Death"

While reading “Amusing Ourselves To Death” by Neil Postman, I was very interested in the book’s many themes. While The book has numerous themes including politics, religion and news, however I feel personally that the most important theme of book is the media. Neil Postman wrote lots about the media in the book and it struck me. It is no secret that Postman took most of the book to explain to the reader that television and that humans are using technology as a distraction. While reading the book I kept noticing the recurring theme of the media in Postman’s words were still thoughts in my head even after I finished the book. I think in words Postman writes he is trying to convince the reader that what is the most important to our society today will nor matter or be as important to us in the future. What do you think is the most important theme in the book? Do you agree with the points I made?
