We Happy Few
There's this new game I've been checking out called "We Happy Few" developed by Compulsion Games. It's interesting how the game has connections with the society of Huxley's Brave New World. The game is set in an alternative timeline in England around the 1960s. There are two types of people, Wellies and Wastrels. Wellies live in the city Wellington Wells where they take Joy Pills in order to stay happy just like how people in Brave New World take Soma pills. In the game when a someone doesn't take their Joy Pill they are beaten and taken to the Garden District where Wastrels live in a poor and dirty environment which reminded me how John was going to be sent to Iceland because of his nonconformity. I really encourage you guys to check out the game or even watch some game play of it on YouTube and see if any of you guys could point out other similarities in the two story lines.

We Happy Few reminds me of a life full of drugs and to me it doesn't sound too bad. A place where joy is the only feeling i have, with no worries at all! Just like a zoo! Animal's don't need to worry about anything until they die. They get fed and taken care of! Take Zoboomafoo for example... He lived happily until his death
ReplyDeleteSadly that was not the case for Harambe, he didn't live a long full-filling life like he deserved. Let us put it out for him in respect, #RIPHarambe
