To Destroy or to Live
As all of us know, we are rapidly advancing with all of these new innovations and discoveries. What we see is just technology and more technology piling up for our lives to be better and to get a better understanding of our world. Of course, this is our human instincts kicking in and making us wonder what happens if something were to combine with another object, or is there something that could be better than what we have as of now. This could easily say that we are continually trying to achieve something different from what we actually want: immortality. We have greatly increased our lifespan since the beginning of time, but that is just natural. We want to live longer, but from what I could see, people want to live forever. This could easily backfire though. If we keep trying to improve our lives, we will see these new technological beings that work to make us feel better, or even be fused with us, making us humans part cyborg. This could even destroy us if we do not control what we invent. What are your opinions on this topic? Will the human race destroy ourselves with these new technologies that will come, or will the human race come to a halt to further increase our capabilities to live and get a better understanding of our world?

In my opinion, we humans have the ability to destroy ourselves with new technology. I say this because I know that there will be some people out there who will want to use the new technology as maybe a weapon against other people in order to destroy them. However, this is not to say that we can't possibly I increase our capabilities. We certainly can, but at our own risks. All I'm trying to say is that even though new technology can be very beneficial, it can backfire on us if it is used improperly or in the wrong hands
ReplyDeleteNo matter what technology brings us, be it immortality as you say, or floating chairs like in the movie WALL-E, we will never be prepared enough to know what that new technology will do to us. Bad things happen because we can't avoid them. Powerful technology always comes with a price. We can just hope that we'll leave a better future for the next generations to enjoy.
